A strange creature flies above the school and plays with Pikachu. Rowlet misunderstands the interaction and is accidentally poisoned. Ash and companions rush Rowlet for medical aid. Team Rocket spots them and initiates a chase. Ash, Torracat, and Lycanroc intervene to save the group. Lusamine and the Aether Foundation identify the creature as an Ultra Beast named Poipole. Lusamine requests that Ash adopt Poipole as a partner. Ash accepts the offer immediately. The group resolves the crisis and welcomes the new Pokémon into their team.
