Ep. 9: Ash seeks Hala's help to solve a Rattata infestation on Melemele Island

Ash meets Hala, the Kahuna of Melemele Island and creator of his Z-Ring, for his first Island Trial Challenge. Hala tasks him with resolving a Rattata and Raticate infestation without using combat. Following advice from his friends, Ash attempts to recruit local Yungoos and Gumshoos to handle the situation. To secure their cooperation, he must defeat their leader, the Totem Pokémon Gumshoos, in battle. Throughout this encounter, Tapu Koko observes the events secretly. This trial requires Ash to find a non-violent solution while proving his strength against the powerful Totem Pokémon to gain the support of the local wildlife.
