Mallow invites Ash to join the Pokémon Pancake Race, where he faces Nina, the former champion with an Alolan Raichu. Team Rocket attempts to steal the grand prize of a year’s supply of free pancakes by deploying Mimikyu and a mechanical Bewear operated by Meowth and Wobbuffet. Mimikyu is disqualified for attacking Pikachu, which also eliminates Bounsweet and Popplio. The mechanical Bewear subsequently self-destructs, leading to Team Rocket’s capture by the real Bewear. With Pikachu and Raichu distracted, the Principal’s Komala secures victory at the last moment, while Pikachu and Raichu tie for second place. The episode concludes at the Pokémon School as Lillie’s egg begins to hatch.
