Apr 3, 2014Alain and his Charizard seek out Mega-Evolved Pokemon, defeating Astrid and her Mega Absol while being observed by new Trainer Mairin. After Alain finds a Mega Stone in a cave, he defeats Dragon Tamer Remo and his Mega Garchomp. Mairin expresses her desire to learn Mega Evolution, prompting Alain to help her catch a Flabébé before he departs. Nurse Joy informs Mairin that Alain challenged Siebold of the Elite Four and his Mega Blastoise at a nearby restaurant. Mairin arrives in time to witness the battle, where Charizard’s type disadvantage leads to Alain’s defeat despite Mega Evolution. Siebold respects Alain’s strength, and Mairin resolves to accompany him on his journey to find her own Mega Stone.

The enraged dragon awakens Groudon and Kyogre, destroying the ruins and injuring Alain. After Mega Charizard X and Mega Metagross fail to stop Rayquaza, it flies away. Lysandre orders Alain and Mairin to investigate Rustboro City with Steven, secretly instructing Alain to stay close to the Champion for his valuable knowledge.
