Ep. 1: Sara Arrives at Miss Minchin's Seminary for Young Ladies

Solicitor Barrow converses with Headmistress Minchin regarding Sara’s background while she adjusts to London following her journey from India with Captain Ralph Crewe. As the headmistress, her sister Amelia Minchin, and Barrow deliberate on Sara’s enrollment, the young girl observes the city through the lens of her studies during the carriage ride. Upon reaching the seminary, tensions rise between Sara, Peter, and the headmistress over intrusive questioning. However, the headmistress’s hostility toward Peter vanishes when Sara admires a pony and subsequently defends the driver. Despite this temporary truce, the interaction plants the initial seeds for the headmistress’s growing aversion to Sara.
