Ep. 22: White Phoenix rescues Crimson Snake from Shengqi despite being wounded twice.
Severely injured, Crimson Snake remains defiant and refuses to give Shengqi further information. He threatens her execution but is interrupted by White Phoenix, who warns him about the poison. As a member of the Peasant Family, Shengqi is immune to such toxins. White Phoenix asserts that Crimson Snake belongs to Quicksand and cannot be killed by him, betting he can save her from Shengqi’s sword, Juque. White Phoenix succeeds in the rescue but sustains injuries. The two engage in continued physical and verbal conflict while White Phoenix attempts to flee with Crimson Snake. They narrowly evade Shengqi, resulting in White Phoenix being wounded a second time. Despite the injuries, they manage to escape, demonstrating that White Phoenix is even more stoic than Crimson Snake.
