Crimson Snake compels the Quicksand group to separate and locate Wei Zhuang by poisoning them and withholding the antidote. Ziming escapes Wushuang but refrains from killing him upon recognizing their similarities. While tracking Shi Lan, Ziyu observes White Phoenex searching for Wei Zhuang before they are discovered by Hidden Bat. Upon returning to the Confucians school, Ziming discovers a secret passage in Master Ban's room that leads to an underground storage area filled with machines. He accidentally triggers a defense mechanism associated with the Black Dragon Scroll.
