Ayato summons the RahXephon to defeat the Dolem Fortissimo and its invading forces. His mother Maya Kamina takes him home, claiming the sky events were imaginary. The following day, Reika confirms the invasion was real. A stalker later leads Ayato to a park and then to a shrine. Reika is already there and reawakens the RahXephon. Ayato finds himself inside the mech, surprised to see his mother present. However, she is not who she appears to be. This encounter reveals hidden truths about his reality and the nature of the RahXephon, challenging Ayato's understanding of the world around him.
