RahXephon

In 2012, Japan is invaded by the Mu, human-like creatures with blue blood from another dimension. By 2015, Tokyo faces another attack from invaders, which is halted by a humanoid weapon known as a Dolem. Ayato Kamina encounters his classmate Reika Mishima during the turmoil. Later, he is pursued by government agents but is saved by Haruka, who explains he has been targeted by the Organization TERRA. She reveals Tokyo is trapped in a time rift where time moves at one-third the normal rate. Ayato escapes onto a train where he reunites with Reika. At the Room of Rah, he follows her to a large egg from which the Dolem RahXephon emerges. As Reika sings, Ayato's mother appears on a Dolem that had stopped the TERRA invasion. During the ensuing battle, Ayato's mother is wounded, prompting him and Haruka to flee Tokyo Jupiter after witnessing her bleeding blue blood.
