Tsubasa Kurenai comes to Tokyo with the intention of taking Ukyo away from Ranma. Ranma mistakenly believes Tsubasa is a female rival and attempts to use his usual feminine charms to win the competition. However, these tactics fail to attract other girls when compared to Tsubasa. Confused by this lack of success, Ranma eventually discovers the truth: Tsubasa is actually a male cross-dresser. This revelation changes the dynamic of the conflict as Ranma realizes he has been competing against a man rather than a woman, altering his understanding of the situation entirely.
