Minato recommends that Amihama join the water polo club because they require a seventh member, but Amihama firmly rejects the offer after revealing he is merely sampling various clubs rather than committing to the track team. The water polo members attempt to persuade him through various antics, which only serves to irritate him further. To make them cease their requests, Amihama proposes a race with the condition that the team must leave him alone if he wins. Despite granting the team a 20-second head start, Amihama successfully outpaces them and secures the victory, thereby avoiding membership in the club.
