Ep. 9: Minato confronts his past self and nearly quits water polo.

Minato rejects Eitarou’s plea to rejoin Yamanami’s team, viewing them as inferior. He visits Riku, who reveals Coach Bizen’s influence on Minato’s arrogance and his own desire to defeat Minato. Upset by Riku’s resolve, Minato announces his retirement from water polo. Later, after overhearing his family discuss his memory recovery, he screams at them and retreats to his room. There, he finds a video from his previous self, which introduces the Yamanami team and highlights their meaningful friendship. Moved by their dedication, Minato decides to stay. During practice, despite his condescending attitude, the team supports him as he struggles with lost muscle strength. However, he remains determined to prove his individual superiority. When Chinu learns of his restored memories and changed personality, she declares she wants nothing more to do with him.
