Gohei Hiruma, the man Kenshin defeated in the first episode, hires Sanosuke Sagara, known as Zanza after his signature zanbato, to take Kenshin down. Sanosuke accepts the job, but not for the money. Instead, he plans to acquaint himself with his new opponent.
