Ep. 2: Kenshin rescues Yahiko from yakuza debt and Kaoru reluctantly accepts him as a student

Kenshin intervenes after a young street urchin named Yahiko Myojin attempts to pickpocket him. Learning that Yahiko is an orphan forced into labor for the yakuza to settle his late mother's debts, Kenshin feels sympathy for the boy. Kaoru attempts to rescue Yahiko but becomes trapped in a dangerous situation. Kenshin arrives to defeat the yakuza members single-handedly, ensuring the boy's safety. Following this event, Kenshin encourages Kaoru to take Yahiko under her wing. Although both Kaoru and Yahiko are initially reluctant, she agrees to accept him as her student, marking a new chapter for the group.
