Kusuo attempts to locate his lost grandparents, who encounter Kokomi and Makoto, earning their approval as potential romantic partners. Meanwhile, temple staff enforce a three-day ascetic fast on Reita Toritsuka, prohibiting food, video games, and pornography. Reita requests Saiki K. to smuggle these items, but Saiki intends to use the opportunity to reform his friend's habits. On Valentine's Day, Chiyo prepares homemade chocolate and a love note for Shun, but Nendo consumes the sweets. Shun reads the note, initially assuming it belongs to another student, before interpreting it as a secret message from Chiyo proposing a sworn friendship. He miscommunicates this to Chiyo, leading her to believe they are a couple. Concurrently, the Newspaper Club attempts to damage Kokomi's reputation by orchestrating an incident where she is splashed by a puddle.
