Kusuke coerces Kusuo into solving city puzzles to keep his secret safe. Kusuo visits the zoo with Yuta, communicating telepathically with the animals. He also eavesdrops on his father visiting a manga artist and critiquing a newcomer's work. Shun fears his brother Toki will lose his admiration for him after meeting Kusuo and Riki. Meanwhile, Kokomi feels jealous of Makoto's closeness to Kusuo and attempts various drastic changes to her appearance and personality.
