Kaoru is captivated by both jazz music and Ritsuko. He encounters Brother Jun, a college student and jazz trumpeter admired by Sentarou. When Jun, Sentarou, and Ritsuko's father begin an impromptu jazz session, Kaoru joins on piano to complete the quartet. Later, Kaoru is delighted when Ritsuko agrees to his invitation for a study date. However, he remains unaware that Sentarou intends to turn this outing into a combo session as well. The episode highlights Kaoru's growing interest in music and his developing relationship with Ritsuko amidst these musical interactions.
