Aired on September 16, 2007

11
The girls encounter a film director who justifies poor quality by claiming adherence to source material. They pursue him to locations symbolizing societal tendencies to evade responsibility. Later, Nozomu, Majiru, and Matoi gather at Nozomu's home, where Chiri arrives to clean. Nozomu expresses a desire for human hibernation, leading the group to attempt a winter sleep. This decision results in severe carbon monoxide poisoning. Nozomu abandons the plan and leaves, with Matoi following. He is subsequently hit by a runaway trolley. The episode concludes at the hospital, where the entire class waits outside the operating room for Nozomu to emerge from surgery.
