Kagerō Usui laments his invisibility after nearly being hit by a truck that fails to see him. He meets Nozomu, who discusses how some are fated to be overshadowed despite their efforts. Kafuka highlights the benefits of staying in the shadows while Kagerō remains unnoticed. Later, the class undergoes criticism training when a stranger enters to insult the students. Kagerō is ignored until a divine wind blows his hair away, exposing his bald head and allowing the class to finally see him. Fearing mockery, he is surprised when Kafuka suggests Chie insult him instead, a reaction he seems to enjoy. This sequence illustrates his unique position as an outcast who gains attention only through unexpected exposure.
