Rio and Latifa enter a forest in the Wilderness, where they are surrounded by demi-humans who identify as People of the Spirits. While Latifa sleeps, Rio attempts to negotiate, but Uzuma, a winged beast person, discovers Latifa and accuses Rio of abduction. Uzuma attacks Rio without allowing him to explain, knocking him unconscious. Inside his dream, Rio sees a girl with pink blonde hair and Ayase Miharu, who is Amakawa Hayato's childhood friend.
