Sasuke warns Kasuga before investigating an explosion, while Kojuurou confesses regrets about Masamune to Yukimura. Sasuke reports that Hisahide Matsunaga has taken Masamune's retainers hostage, demanding the six dragon claw swords and Takeda's shieldless armor for their release. Kojuurou suggests abandoning the hostages, but Masamune insists on saving them. Kojuurou challenges the recovering Masamune to a duel, knowing he is unfit for combat, and swiftly knocks him out by striking his wounds. Respecting Masamune's wish, Kojuurou decides to rescue the retainers. Takeda questions Yukimura's decision to let Kojuurou go alone, correcting his perspective and ordering him to assist in the rescue mission to retrieve the armor.
