The Gallian Regular Army achieves victories with Alicia’s support, pushing Imperial forces to Ghirlandio. Maximilian, fearing retribution from the Emperor and Crown Prince, renounces his title to establish his own empire. Selvaria remains troubled by her Naggiar failure but stays devoted to Maximilian. At the Gallian camp, Welkin and Squad 7 attempt to contact Alicia but are blocked by officers, leading to a brawl. Cordelia pardons Faldio and meets Alicia, who requests protection for Squad 7 and Faldio until the war ends. Cordelia asks Squad 7 to serve as her personal guard to fulfill this promise. Alicia and the army proceed to Ghirlandio, where they confront Selvaria and the Imperials.
