Contracted Monks and Shikabane defeat Isaka and Toya, while Makina is overwhelmed by Hokuto. Sadahiro and Akira shoot the purification chamber, hitting Hibiki's coffin. Akasha cries in relief when the corpse moves, but Hokuto kills her and escapes with Hazama. Kamika Todoroki informs other Shikabane Hime that Makina is missing, though they know Ouri is with her. Ouri invites Makina to live in the orphanage for a normal life. After classmates mention Nozomi, Ouri leaves with Makina, who reflects on being alive. Makina insists her purpose is fighting death, but Ouri disagrees. The two sense Hokuto and Hazama in an abandoned apartment. Hokuto attacks through the wall, forcing Makina to fight back with all her strength.
