The casket holds the daughter of the Kōgon Sect founder, preserved as a Shikabane Hime. Akasha transforms Hokuto into his Shikabane Hime and kills Hazama. Ouri and Makina confront them in the purification chamber. Akasha reveals his past: he was childhood friends and lovers with Hibiki Shijo. Her illness led to her death, prompting Akasha to resurrect her as a Shikabane Hime. Hazama orchestrated the Shikabane attack five years ago, during which Hibiki destroyed 108 Shikabane before turning into one herself, forcing Akasha to kill her. Concluding that heaven is a lie, Akasha and Hokuto destroy the chamber. Ouri and Makina discover new strength through friendship to continue their battle.
