Ep. 22: The Final Hunt

Megumi is killed as a forest fire engulfs the village. Toshio fails to stop the blaze, forcing villagers to hide bodies in a pit. Natsuno fights Tatsumi in town, and both fall into the pit where Natsuno detonates explosives, killing them. Sunako hides in a burning church until Seishin kills Atsushi's father to save her. Sunako wishes to die, but Seishin, now a jinrou, convinces her to live. They are the only surviving shiki. Ozaki questions the purpose of the village's self-destruction. Seishin drives a car away from the flames with a suitcase. Survivors, including Akira, Kaori, Kanami, Yasuyo, and Natsuno's father, board a bus leaving the ravaged area.
