Ep. 12: Heroes confront Ares as Shisandan reveals himself and Ruti is compelled by a Sacred Blade.

The heroes locate Ares, where Bui is attacked by Danan and reveals his identity as Shisandan. They find an artifact chamber containing five sword blades, siblings to the Sacred Sword wielded by Ruti, who are remnants from the era of the first Hero. Red’s group arrives, and the enemies attempt to kill Red while using the swords to force Ruti back into her role as the Hero. Theodora attacks Ruti to steer her toward the Hero’s path, but Rit protests, arguing that the Hero’s Blessing does not make one the sole savior and that the people’s will defines a hero. Red, Ruti, Rit, Tisse, and Godwin fight back. Red kills Ares, but Shisandan tricks Ruti into touching a blade, triggering her Blessing’s compulsions. She attacks Red, but Tisse intercepts the blow, sustaining critical wounds.
