Shiki searches for Arcueid but encounters Ciel, who assists him after witnessing his resolve. They discover Roa attacking Arcueid at the school. Despite her resistance, Arcueid is killed by Roa, prompting an enraged Shiki to engage the enemy. Initially overpowered, Shiki benefits from a distraction by Ciel, allowing him to destroy the walkway they occupy and eliminate Roa. Ciel vanishes, leaving no one else in the school with memories of her. Shiki visits a tree from his youth to thank the sorceress Aoko Aozaki. Later, while waiting for Arcueid after school, he sees her appear. She thanks him for keeping his promise before disappearing.
