Masahiro uses Kagutsuchi to block Touda's attacks and stabs him before reverting to Mokkun. He then sacrifices his life to revive Mokkun and faints. Akiko prays for him while he dreams of crossing a river and meeting Wakana. He is surprised to find Akiko's charm, which he believed he left behind. Wakana explains that such items belong to those who worry about loved ones before departing. In reality, Masahiro and Mokkun wake up to the relief of everyone present, while Rikugo treasures Kazane's pendant. Touda is confused by his mononoke form, which Ko attributes to Seimei's direct orders. The episode concludes with Masahiro noting the pain of losing someone at the cost of one's life.
