Masahiro visits Kifune to meet Dragon God Takaokami, who reveals Touda was manipulated by Guji. She explains that Shikigami originate from human desires, meaning Touda will forget Masahiro and change form if not saved. After passing out, Masahiro is returned home by Kochin. The following day, Toshitsugu covers his work duties. Masahiro doubts that killing Touda resolves the issue and checks on Tennitsu's recovery with Rikugo and Tai'in. Returning to Kifune, Masahiro agrees to borrow Takaokami's power, "The Flame of Kagutsuchi," but requires Suzaku's soul to control it. Finally, Masahiro and Toshitsugu travel to Izumo, leaving Akiko's charm behind.
