Masahiro and the Shinsho reach Izumo to locate the cave leading to the dead world. Meanwhile, Kazane wakes to find Kai alive, and they travel to the site where her mother was sealed by Guji. Guji reveals he transferred his soul into Ryuusai, who was killed by Touda, and intends to use Kazane's power to open the gate. Kai teleports Kazane away, sacrificing his life. As demons threaten to consume her, Masahiro and the Shinsho rescue her. Rikugo reveals his true name is Saiki before dying. Masahiro, Seimei, and the Shinsho proceed to the entrance to prepare for battle against Guji, who now inhabits Ryuusai's body, alongside the demons.
