A magazine publication exposes Yotarou’s history as a former convict and yakuza member, causing a scandal within the rakugo community and tarnishing his reputation. Despite maintaining a facade of normalcy during performances, his underlying desperation increasingly manifests on stage. The fallout results in the loss of television appearances and growing hostility from theater audiences. While the public scandal drives much of his distress, Yotarou’s personal insecurities appear to stem from deeper internal sources beyond the immediate media exposure.
