Sonic arrives to assist Chris’s group, but Eggman steals the Chaos Emerald. The group pursues him to his base, witnessing a battle between Eggman and the government's military. Meanwhile, Rouge, Knuckles, and others who infiltrated the base plant a bomb in the power sector. They attempt to escape but are trapped behind a shutter door. With his allies detained, Sonic must independently retrieve the cyan and yellow Chaos Emeralds and defeat Eggman to resolve the crisis.
