The group encounters Cosmo, who states he arrived on their planet to locate Sonic and retrieve the Planet Eggs from various worlds held by the Metarex. Upon hearing this, Sonic and his companions decide to travel into space. While constructing their spacecraft, they face an attack from Metarex Spike. To overcome this threat, Sonic is utilized as ammunition for the Sonic Driver, the ship's main weapon, which successfully defeats Metarex Spike and allows their mission to proceed.
