The Metarex launch a devastating assault on Sonic’s home world, forcing him to scatter the seven Chaos Emeralds throughout the galaxy during the intense battle. In the aftermath, a solitary Metarex steals the Planet Egg, which serves as the life source for the planet. Meanwhile, an 18-year-old Chris utilizes a machine he built to warp to Sonic’s planet. However, due to time dilation differences between the two worlds, he reverts to the physical form of a 12-year-old upon arrival. This sequence of events leaves Sonic’s world vulnerable and introduces a young Chris into the ongoing conflict against the Metarex threat.
