Lord Death and the DWMA community celebrate the academy's founding anniversary, providing Medusa the opportunity to revive the kishin sleeping beneath the school. Stein confronts Medusa to uncover her scheme before Sid warns the attendees of the trap. Medusa flees to attack Death City with her minions, while Free traps others in his Independent Cube. Sid permits Maka, Black Star, Kid, their weapon partners, and Stein to escape. The group pursues Medusa underground to make final preparations for the confrontation.
