Ep. 48: Lord Death Wields a Death Scythe: Just One Step from Utter Darkness?

Asura is consumed by Death City and arrives in the Death Room to face Lord Death and Death Scythe. Elsewhere, Black Star, Tsubaki, and an injured Mifune locate Angela within Baba Yaga's Castle. During the confrontation, Asura argues that fear stems from human imagination and intends to eliminate it by spreading madness. Lord Death opposes this, asserting his role as the world's guardian. The battle turns when Asura attacks Kid and Azusa with Vajra, forcing Lord Death to shield them and sustain severe injuries. Excalibur confronts Asura, who then experiences spasms and retreats to Arachne. In a final act driven by fear of her, Asura murders and devours Arachne's soul.
