Lady Seto’s vessel, the Mikagami, rescues Seina and his companions, inviting them aboard. She informs Seina that individuals of Earth origin are generally rejected by the Galactic Patrol. Consequently, he must demonstrate his worthiness to remain as a cadet or face deportation to Earth with his memories wiped. While navigating this precarious situation, Seina meets Ryoko, a space pirate who attempts to recruit him to join her crew. This encounter adds further complexity to his efforts to secure his position within the organization while dealing with external pressures from both the authorities and the pirate.
