Trapped in a virtual recreation of their home, Kyosuke escapes Runa’s simulation, angering her. She warns him to join her or face destruction, but he refuses. The twins transform and fight in a church-like setting. Kyosuke attempts to prove their humanity, while Runa remains hostile due to a past trauma where her mother, Tsubaki, stabbed her twelve years ago. Kyosuke uses his powers to feel Runa’s pain and reveals that Tsubaki’s attack was intended to grant Runa a protective ability rather than kill her. Understanding this, Runa’s fear of death causes the flickers to leave her body, reverting her to age five. Kyosuke then absorbs Runa into his body to protect her, allowing them to move past their trauma.
