Ep. 18: Saruyama, the Gift

Ryouko discovers a spaceship on the school roof containing a package for Lala. Upon opening it, a giant cat emerges intending to kill Lala but reveals she is pregnant and unaware of her condition. The group takes the cat to the infirmary, where Saruyama is tasked with caring for her. The cat requests Saruyama as a birth gift for her child, which he angrily refuses. Lala suggests dressing him as a fish to make him a more memorable souvenir. To avoid being taken, Saruyama desperately seeks a girlfriend, but all schoolgirls reject him except Haruna. Rito intervenes, preventing Saruyama from using Haruna as an excuse. Finally, Saruyama claims a dog he found outside is his new partner. The cat departs with her baby, wishing Saruyama happiness, leaving him to realize the dog was male.
