Contemplating Lala's father's words and future challenges, Rito devises a plan to become the number one man in the galaxy. He begins training and encounters Haruna while walking her dog, Maron. After Rito explains his need for change, Haruna agrees to support him by joining his daily runs. This shared goal leads Haruna to invite Rito to lunch by the river. During their outing, Maron chases a bird into the water, prompting Rito to rescue the dog. They return to Haruna's home to dry Rito's wet clothes, leaving him in a towel. As they reminisce about middle school, Haruna trips while checking on him, leading to a near kiss. The moment is interrupted by Haruna's older sister, and the situation worsens when Rito's towel falls off.
