Ep. 22: Erii reveals her telepathic past with Banri while Mikoto investigates the Level Upper and Poltergeist crisis.

Erii reveals she and Banri were telepaths raised in an orphanage for Child Errors, but she has recently sensed Banri’s suffering and searched for her. Mikoto explains the Level Upper experiment to Therestina, who theorizes that Kiyama’s comatose students cause the Poltergeist incidents. This theory deepens the rift between Kazari and Kuroko. Mikoto later learns Kiyama was released and that unresolved Poltergeists threaten Academy City. Investigating a Gensei facility, Mikoto finds Kiyama at a hospital where Heaven Canceller treats the comatose students. Heaven Canceller explains Gensei’s plan to create Level 6 espers using Ability Crystals from失控 espers. Kiyama bailed out to find a cure, but without the First Sample, their efforts triggered the Poltergeists. Therestina arrives and demands custody of the children. Mikoto chooses Therestina’s side to give the children a chance, convincing a heartbroken Kiyama to trust the authorities.
