The mysterious man disables the device, identifies the leader as Hebitani Tsuguo, and claims to be the real Kurozuma. He defeats the gang single-handedly. Konori then approaches him, revealing she is an old acquaintance. This incident is part of a series of indiscriminate attacks by the Big Spiders.

After assisting a mischievous nun and a burger-loving miko, a small earthquake strikes while she helps a girl retrieve a missing pendant. Tsuzuri returns to the arcade to play Gekisho 9 against Kōnoe, both using the secret character. As they walk home, Kōnoe expresses interest in a potential sequel, thanking her for their interaction. Tsuzuri later learns he has transferred to a game-design school sponsored by the creators of Gekisho, which brings her happiness and strengthens her resolve to improve.

Feb 20, 2010A nighttime earthquake interrupts Mitsuko’s studies, causing her teacup and doll collection to float mysteriously. The following day, Daigo informs Kazari that transfer student Erii Haruue will be her new roommate. Mikoto and Ruiko show Erii around the city, while Kazari, Kuroko, and Konori attend a meeting with Therestina Kihara Lifeline of the Multi Active Rescue regarding Poltergeist incidents caused by espers losing control. That evening, Mikoto and Kuroko skip curfew to celebrate Erii’s arrival at a fireworks festival with Ruiko and Konori. Erii becomes entranced by memories and wanders off. Konori discovers the incidents are intentional, but another event occurs near Kazari and Erii. Therestina saves them from a falling lamppost as a familiar woman appears in the crowd below.

Heaven Canceller explains Gensei’s plan to create Level 6 espers using Ability Crystals from失控 espers. Mar 13, 2010Kazari attempts to secure Kiyama’s data for MAR, but Therestina destroys it and denies access to Erii and the children. The group discovers Therestina is Gensei’s granddaughter and the first Ability Crystal test subject. Mikoto battles Therestina at the MAR Base Research Laboratory but is defeated by Capacity Down. Therestina departs with Erii and the children, leaving Mikoto to be rescued by Mitsuko. Feeling responsible, Mikoto isolates herself until Ruiko intervenes, encouraging her to rely on others and reconciling Kazari and Kuroko. Upon learning Kiyama pursues the MAR convoy, Mikoto, Kuroko, Kazari, Ruiko, Konori, and Mitsuko set out to rescue Erii and the others from their new location.
EP 24Mikoto and allies defeat Therestina to save children from Level 6 plot
Mar 20, 2010Kiyama pursues MAR trailers, unaware they are decoys, but is rescued by Mikoto. Kuroko, Mitsuko, Yomikawa, Tsuzuri, and Anti-Skills hold off MAR Troops while Kiyama, Kazari, and Ruiko approach Kihara's laboratory. Mikoto defends them from Therestina's giant mech, which Kuroko helps destroy using its arm as a railgun. The group reaches the underground lab holding Erii and the children, but Therestina survives and activates Capacity Down to weaken the espers. Her plan involves using a First Sample to force Erii to become a Level 6 esper, destroying the city. Ruiko, unaffected by the ability, destroys the controls, enabling Mikoto to defeat Therestina. Kiyama uses the sample to create a cure, awakening Banri and the others. The recovering children send a birthday message to Kiyama via blimp as Mikoto and her friends watch.
