Mirai and Yuuki return home, where she reunites with her parents and Yuuki's spirit departs. One month later, Tokyo continues recovering from the earthquake. Mari visits Mirai, returning her cell phone and Yuuki's backpack. Mirai discovers an email Yuuki sent before his death, expressing hope that he could get a phone to talk even when apart. Mirai gives her mother the present Yuuki bought for her birthday. While watering the tree Yuuki planted, Mirai resolves to move forward with her life, knowing Yuuki will always remain in her heart.
