Mukouda calculates the feeding costs and realizes he must find employment immediately to support his new companion.

They learn accurate maps are national secrets due to wars. At a pub, Mukouda buys a general kingdom map for one gold, only to learn from adventurers he was swindled since guilds sell them for one silver. With the map acquired, Mukouda decides to head east toward a kingdom by the ocean.

Fel becomes angry that Mukouda has neglected offerings to Ninrir. After six weeks on the shortcut, the group encounters a trading caravan attacked by bandits. Fel intimidates the bandits into surrendering, and the grateful caravan owner Lambert invites them to travel with him to Karelina, a city near the ocean. Later, Ninrir forces Mukouda to grovel for his neglect, only forgiving him when he provides a large selection of Western-style desserts.
