Ep. 15: Akagi plays a high-stakes mahjong game against a corrupt police officer murderer.
Aired on January 11, 2006

Akagi follows Yasuoka and Oogi to confront Washizu Iwao, a decorated police officer who amassed wealth through consulting and blackmail before killing opponents in mahjong matches. At his mansion, Washizu introduces the "Washizu Mahjong," a variant using transparent tiles where only one tile of each four-of-a-kind set is opaque. The game enforces three house rules: players draw from a central hole instead of building walls, wear leather gloves to prevent tactile detection of tiles, and determine the dora indicator via an initial dealer draw. Akagi wagers 2000 cubic centimeters of blood, while Washizu stakes 20 million yen for this deadly encounter.
