Ep. 14: Yasuoka recruits Akagi to hunt a mahjong-playing serial killer targeting yakuza members.
Aired on January 4, 2006

After discovering the body of Hirayama Yukio, known as the fake Akagi, among victims drained of blood, Yasuoka confronts Oogi, the second-in-command of the Inada yakuza group. He proposes that the real Akagi is the only one capable of defeating a serial killer who eliminates opponents through mahjong matches. Oogi reveals that a similar player is gambling with the Kurata subgroup of Santou, which falls under the Inada organization. The duo locates Akagi, who has nearly died from a sword wound sustained during a game with yakuza members. Following his emergency hospitalization, Yasuoka and Oogi discuss the investigation with Akagi and formally request his participation in a match against the murderer to stop the killings.
