Ep. 2: Lev trains Irina for spaceflight while uncovering vampire history and project politics.

Lev initiates Irina’s rigorous cosmonaut preparation, covering running, medical checks, heat and G-force endurance, and parachute jumps. During the latter, he realizes she fears heights. He also learns vampires consume milk instead of blood, as human blood is taboo, and that their negative reputation originated from being scapegoated during the Great Plague. To lift her spirits, Lev gives her soda water, which she secretly loves. Meanwhile, N Project leaders Slava Korovin and Lt. General Viktor review the mission. Korovin explains he chose Lev because his respect for Maly’s death proved his suitability despite his reserve status. Korovin warns Viktor that Arnack and internal Zirnitra factions will attempt to sabotage the project. Elsewhere on the base, an unknown individual burns a photograph of Irina.
