Lev Lep, a hopeful cosmonaut with low selection odds, is assigned to the N Project to handle Irina Luminesk, a vampire launched secretly to eliminate human risk. Alongside researcher Anya Simonyan, Lev trains Irina at LAIKA44, where she faces coldness from candidates and shows little respect for humans. He reveals that Zirnitra covered up the death of Maly, the first dog sent to space, who died two hours after launch. While Lev struggles to view Irina merely as a test subject, she privately reminds herself that Zirnitra will execute her without hesitation for any reason.

He also learns vampires consume milk instead of blood, as human blood is taboo, and that their negative reputation originated from being scapegoated during the Great Plague. To lift her spirits, Lev gives her soda water, which she secretly loves. Meanwhile, N Project leaders Slava Korovin and Lt. General Viktor review the mission. Korovin explains he chose Lev because his respect for Maly’s death proved his suitability despite his reserve status. Korovin warns Viktor that Arnack and internal Zirnitra factions will attempt to sabotage the project. Elsewhere on the base, an unknown individual burns a photograph of Irina.
EP 3Irina overcomes her fear of heights during training while a rocket explosion causes political turmoil.
Oct 18, 2021During a meeting with Zirnitra leader Gegriev, Korovin confirms the N Project proceeds as planned. Government ministers demand Irina's immediate execution after her test flight, but Gegriev privately opposes wasting valuable manpower despite public ambivalence. Irina struggles with a fear of heights that hinders her parachute training. To help her, Lev takes her on a plane flight, which inspires her and alleviates her fears. Concurrently, an ICBM test at Zirnitra's rocket launch facility in Albinar explodes, killing 500 people. Although the incident is covered up, government turmoil arises from sabotage suspicions. Irina eventually advances to more difficult parachute exercises. As training continues, Lev questions her motivation for enduring such harsh conditions to be a test subject. Irina resolves to succeed regardless of the cost, even if it means losing her life.
EP 4Irina undergoes solitude training after a lake outing with Lev
Oct 25, 2021Irina’s training advances while test rocket development faces delays due to necessary safety feature removals to meet deadlines. Korovin’s poor health complicates his oversight of the construction. Lev advises Irina to relax before her upcoming solitude test in an anechoic altitude chamber. They visit a jazz bar where Lev shares his childhood fascination with space. Later, he takes Irina ice skating at a lake. During a break, she reveals her parents died in the World War and her obsession with the Moon. She explains she joined the Nosferatu Project to reach space before humanity, accepting potential death. Lev promises to ensure she succeeds. The following day, Irina suffers from amnesia regarding the previous night due to intoxication and proceeds to her solitude training.

Upon finishing her isolation training, Irina successfully completes a solo parachute drop with Lev. During the session, a test rocket reentry module crashes nearby. Korovin explains the rocket reached orbit but malfunctioned, requiring remote detonation. Leadership orders a similar self-destruct mechanism installed in Irina's rocket to prevent enemy capture. Investigating the site, Irina sees a test dog corpse and falls into shock.

She questions his fear of accidents, and he explains that dreams justify risking one's life. Korovin’s request to delay the launch is denied, and he is ordered to install a self-destruct system to prevent the reentry module from landing outside Zirnitra's borders. During G-force training, Franz sabotages the machine to kill Irina. Lev manually shuts it down to save her, angering Sagalevich, who beats Irina with his garlic necklace. Lev intervenes and is arrested for assaulting a superior officer. With the launch imminent, Irina must travel to the launch site at Albinar without Lev.

At the test launch, Irina receives instructions to recite a borscht recipe if safe or a cheeseburger recipe if compromised, to signal status if radio transmissions are intercepted by Arnak. Communications are briefly lost, but the launch succeeds, placing Irina in Earth's orbit. She expresses joy at reaching space but sadness over likely never reaching the Moon. The capsule reenters the atmosphere off-course, missing the landing zone. Lev joins the search and rescue operation, locating Irina unharmed and welcoming her back to Earth.
EP 8Korovin celebrates test success while Lev trains for space and visits Irina
Nov 22, 2021Following a successful test launch, Korovin and his team congratulate Irina. The government postpones decisions regarding her disposal until a comprehensive medical examination for long-term health effects is completed. Lev is reinstated as a cosmonaut candidate, offering him a chance to become the first human in space. With the Nosferatu Project concluded, Lev is relieved of his duties as Irina's caretaker, leaving Anya as her sole guardian. Irina and Anya celebrate New Year's Eve together, while Lev focuses on his cosmonaut training. Despite this, he cannot stop thinking about Irina. Lev manages to visit her one night, organizing a private celebration for their respective achievements. When Irina asks if he has passed the graduation exam, he replies that he does not know yet.
EP 9Lev Saves Roza During Training While Irina Faces Danger and Departure
Nov 29, 2021Arnak’s successful chimpanzee space mission pressures the Zirnitran government to accelerate Korovin’s manned flight program. Lev is selected as a cosmonaut alongside Mikhail Yashin and Roza Plevitskaya for the first manned mission, with training adjusted based on Irina’s flight data. During a parachute exercise, Roza enters a dangerous spin, and Lev risks his life to rescue her. Roza later reveals her hypercompetitive nature, which earned her the nickname "The White Rose of Sangrad." Meanwhile, Irina observes Lev with Roza and avoids him, narrowly escaping a Zirnitran agent who is subsequently caught and executed by Natalia. The following day, Lev visits Irina, who announces her transfer to Sangrad in two days. They agree to meet for a farewell party the next evening.

Lev then changes his address to reveal Irina as the first cosmonaut. Irina storms the stage with Lev’s assistance while Gegriev stops opposition. She gives a speech about her dream to reach the Moon with Lev. Gegriev uses this moment to criticize political enemies and foreign nations like Arnack for vampire discrimination, promising to reform Zirnitra. Lev later discovers Gegriev and Lyudmila manipulated the event, and that Korovin threatened to resign if Irina died. Despite feeling used, Lev looks forward to peaceful space exploration with Irina. Future scenes show humans and vampires coexisting on an orbital station.
