Ep. 2: Vanitas and Noé escape prison to hunt a vampire while facing threats from Luca and Jeanne.
Vanitas and Noé remain imprisoned after an airship incident until Count Parks Orlok summons them. Although Orlok intends to execute Amelia, Noé proposes capturing a curse-bearer vampire terrorizing Paris to secure their release using the grimoire. Dante provides Vanitas with the vampire's location, but Johann warns that Lord Ruthven's executioner is present in the city. The duo locates Thomas Breneux, a vampire from beyond the barrier attacking Parisiennes. Noé restrains him while Vanitas uses the grimoire to temporarily calm the creature. However, Luca and Jeanne, the Hellfire Witch, arrive demanding the grimoire, believing it creates curse-bearers. Noé refuses, leading Jeanne to attack him with the Crimson Gauntlet. The pair escapes, and Vanitas later reveals to Noé that the grimoire can indeed create curse-bearers.
