Noé attacks Charlatan, who recognizes him. Noé remembers living with Teacher at the de Sade residence, where he met Louis and Dominique. Louis, a curse-bearer, carved stakes for Noé to kill him, but Noé refused. When friend Mina was sentenced to execution as a curse-bearer, Louis killed her after she transformed. Consumed by bloodlust, Louis also murdered their other friends. Noé attempted to restore him, but Louis bit him and drank his blood. Teacher arrived and beheaded Louis, saving Noé. In the present, Charlatan’s black vaporous envoy offers to take Noé to meet Louis. Vanitas appears and forces the envoy to withdraw.
